This species was discovered only 1986 of Zamudio Ruiz and Rzedowski.
This butterwort being from Mexico forms year-roundly only carnivorous leaves.
A special feature of these plants is, that they grow also in alkaline soil (so the plants tolerate easily chalky water). You find this plant on vertical sandstone cliffs in the native country Mexico in damp ravines. There is a temperature of 20 degrees Celsius (68 degree Farenheit) in winter - so the plant dislikes cold winter.
Culture:
The humidity should with Ping. emarginata not less than 60% sink. I keep them in a together with the Pinguicula moctezumae. The soil should be wet, but don't use the water tray method. The roots should can get fresh air. I completely let the soil never dry out. As soil a peat - sand mixture 2:1 can be recommended. Location is a west window in which the Terrarium was put so that no direct midday sun reaches the plants. Due to the origin of Pinguicula emerginata a year-round culture is at 20-30 degrees Celsius (in winter 20-25 degrees Celsius; in summer 25-30 degrees Celsius) to recommend.
At the Pinguicula emarginata it is the beautiful that it flourishes constantly (by good cultivation conditions) with an at least 1 flower. The little flowers have an interesting form and can be very beautifully looked by the violet color drawing on a white reason.
