Tropical Pitcher Plant - Nepenthes inermis x ventricosa (also called: Nepenthes x ventrinermis)
This hybridization has both parents from the highlands, but you can cultivate the plant as lowland pitcher plant. The plant does very well in a terrarium. The pitchers are small and with a very beautiful coloring.
The parents:
- Nepenthes inermis has funnel pitchers with a very mall lid (without rain protection function). Homeland are the highlands (2000m-2500m / 6500-8200ft) of Sumatra.
- Nepenthes ventricosa has 15cm / 6inch long typical formed pitchers. Homeland of this plant are the Philippines. The plant is also growing in the highlands, but prefers an altitude of 1200m-1500m / 4000-5000ft.
