Drosera callistos
General:
This little plants belongs to the group "pygmy sundews". Discovered was this plant by N. Marchant & A. Lowrie in 1992.
You can find the plant in southwest Australia near Perth. The soil is very sandy
The plant:
Drosera callistos forms rosettes with a diameter of a 3/4 inch. The leaves (diameter 1/10 inch) get red in color if the plant has enough sunlight.
The edge tentacles are very long. This plant is perennial and produces orange flowers with an 3/4 inch in diameter. The flowers are the biggest flowers of the group pf pygmey sundews. Each flower stalk
(4 inches height) has 4-5 flowers. Drosera callistos is starting to produce gemmae at end of October (at corresponding conditions).
Culture:
I keep this plant together with the Albany pitcher plant in a small terrarium. This is placed at the south window. For soil I use a mixture between peat and sand.
