The plant:
Drosera burmannii is a small sundew with a diameter between 1 - 1 1/1 inches. The plant has special tentacles at the end of each leaf: The can produce a movement of 90° in 2-5 seconds. This tentacles enclose their prey like a cage.
The plant has normally a short life: From Seed to a flowering plant you don't have to wait a year. And after flowering and producing seed the plant dies. If you cut off the flower-stalk it is possible to have the plant for 2-3 years.
A special form is known - this plant doesn't have red color - the plant stays only green.
Culture:
This tropical plant likes the whole year a warm place with high humidity (60-75%). Drosera burmannii prefers as much as possible light - direct sun is welcome. For soil is a mixture of peat and sand 2:1 - 1:1 best. Use the water tray method.
Leaf cuttings doesn't work - you must use the seed for propagation. But don't worry - the plant is self fertile.
